The state representatives and senators representing Lancaster County are holding a commemorative ceremony honoring U.S. Vietnam War veterans on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at Hempfield High School, Performing Arts Center, 200 Stanley Avenue, Landisville.
The 2008 National Defense Authorization Act authorized the Secretary of Defense to conduct a program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. A special Vietnam Veterans’ lapel pin has been produced and will be presented to attending veterans.
To sponsor this event, I am partnering with Reps. Mindy Fee (R-Manheim), Keith Greiner (R-Upper Leacock), Bryan Cutler (R-Peach Bottom), Dave Hickernell (R-West Donegal), Brett Miller (R-East Hempfield) and Dave Zimmerman (R-East Earl), as well as Sens. Ryan Aument (R-36) and Scott Martin (R-13).
All veterans who served on active duty in the United Stated Armed Forces between Nov. 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975 – regardless of stationing location – are invited to attend this event. Questions regarding the event may be directed to my office at (717) 626-1776.
Registration is required for this event. Please register online by Sept. 22, at
senatoraument.com or call my office at (717) 626-1776.
